An elite address on an exquisite

Where history has a decidedly modern touch

Step out of the island sun and into history.

Constructed more than a hundred years ago, The Officers’ Quarters serves as a fine example of early 20th century military architecture. At the dawn of the last century tensions between America and Spain had begun to rise, and the nation sought to strengthen its coastal defenses. The site of Sullivan Island’s historic Fort Moultrie, which had successfully defended Charleston during the Revolutionary War, was marked for expansion.

The Bachelor Officers’ Quarters, erected in 1900 on the fort’s grounds, featured wide porches to the east and south, expansive windows, intricate pressed metal ceilings, paneled interior doors, heart pine floors, fireplaces, a substantial front entrance flanked by sidelights, and a soaring central staircase... elements that have been immaculately restored and incorporated into the newly updated layout.

Situated on one of the island‘s oldest lanes, shaded by live oaks, the Officers’ Quarters is one of the few historic condominium structures in the Lowcountry. In an era of freedom it offers liberation from the need for landscaping, security, and upkeep; residents can lock their doors and step away worry-free.

Surround yourself with history and modern luxury... for the best of both worlds.
